TNT KaTropa put on a show in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals opener, ripping apart the San Miguel Beermen in Game 1, 109-96, Sunday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Down by two early in the game, the top seeded KaTropa flexed their muscles and unloaded an 18-0 run for a 35-19 first-quarter lead which they never relinquished the rest of the way.

Terrence Jones spearheaded the rampage with 41 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and three blocks as TNT drew first blood in the best-of-seven championship series.

Jayson Castro had 20 markers, while Troy Rosario added 16 points, and Roger Pogoy and Don Trollano made 13 and 11 points, respectively, to complement Jones in the Game 1 victory.

Chris McCullough had 33 points and 15 rebounds, while June Mar Fajardo had 23 points for the Beermen.

Game 2 of the series is this Wednesday, August 7, still at the Big Dome.
