San Miguel Beermen stayed alive as it stormed past the Magnolia Hotshots in Game Six, 98-86, in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup finals at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum Sunday night.
With their backs against the wall, the Beermen came to life as they put up a strong offensive showing, leading by as many as 22 points on their way to the victory.
As a result, San Miguel kept alive its bid for a fifth consecutive All-Filipino Cup title as they dragged the best-of-seven series to a do-or-die Game Seven.
June Mar Fajardo stood out for SMB in the win, banging in 23 points and 18 boards alongside two blocks, while Marcio Lassiter produced 20 points, seven boards, three dimes, and two steals for an all-around game.
Chris Ross waxed hot from downtown and ended up with 17 markers on top of six assists and five rebounds, while Christian Standhardinger added 16 points in the win.
Jio Jalalon collected 17 points and eight assists to lead Magnolia, Rafi Reavis and Ian Sangalang had 16 and 14 points respectively and grabbed five boards each, while Rodney Brondial added 12 markers in a lost cause.
Game Seven of the series will be played on Wednesday, May 15 still as the Big Dome.
