Roger Pogoy had his guns ablaze and the TNT KaTropa ran away with a 104-96 decision in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday night at the Big Dome.
As a result, the KaTropa made it three wins in a row, catching up with the Blackwater Elite and the NorthPort Batang Pier in the lead at 5-1.
RR Pogoy had a fiery showing, finishing with career-best 38 points built around 10 triples to lead the balanced effort of the KaTropa, who dealt the Gin Kings their second straight defeat.
Down by 10 early in the fourth, Pogoy almost single-handedly carried TNT on his back, draining one big trey after another to help the team build a comfortable cushion on the way to the win.
Terrence Jones put up 17 points, 14 rebounds, 16 assists and six blocks for the KaTropa, while Jayson Castro added 11 points and seven assists.
Justin Brownlee led the scoring for the Barangay with 29 points and 17 boards in a lost cause.
