The Hotshots were comfortably ahead by 21 points when they saw the E-Painters make a huge comeback, heaving a sigh of relief after the rally fell just short.

Paul Lee made 15 points and five boards, while Jio Jalalon ended up with 12 points, four boards, and four assists as four more Magnolia players scored in double figures for a well-distributed offense.

James Yap, who finished with 24 points, led the late fightback for the Elasto Painters, hitting a clutch three-pointer in the final one-minute mark that trimmed the lead to just 92-89, before Maverick Ahanmisi’s layup pulled them to within just one, 91-92.

Jalalon though converted two charities with 3.1 ticks to go to preserve the win for the Hotshots as Yap missed a potential game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer.

Rookie Javee Mocon produced 14 points for Rain or Shine, while Gabe Norwood contributed 10 markers, eight boards, three steals, and a block in the loss.
