Rain or Shine Elasto Painters stayed alive after downing the Magnolia Hotshots, 91-81, in Game Six of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals on Friday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

Riding on the timely offensive explosion of Rey Nambatac in the payoff period, the E-Painters will live to fight another day as they now have tied the best-of-seven series at three games apiece, dragging the Hotshots into sudden-death Game Seven.

Heating up from downtown, Nambatac drained a total of four treys in the fourth, highlighted by clutch back-to-back hits inside the final four minutes that gave the Elasto Painters a comfortable 83-71 advantage.

As a result, the former Letran stalwart finished the match with 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range, along with three rebounds and three assists.

James Yap scored 16 as well on 7-of-14 shooting from the field to go with seven rebounds and two assists for Rain or Shine. Beau Belga produced 15 points and four assists, while Jewel Ponferrada added 14 markers and seven boards in the must-win match.

Ian Sangalang came through with 19 points and eight rebounds with two steals to lead Magnolia. Paul Lee had 18 points, four rebounds, and two assists, while Jio Jalalon flirted with a double-double with 14 markers and eight assists in a lost cause.

Game Seven of the semifinals series will be on Sunday, April 28, at Mall of Asia Arena.
