Blackwater Elite chalked up its first win of the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup after defeating the NorthPort Batang Pier, 107-98, on Saturday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Finally moving into the winning column, the Elite thus improved to 1-2, while they sent the Batang Pier reeling to their third consecutive loss and a 1-3 record.

Ray Parks, Jr. led Blackwater’s balanced offense with a team-high 21 points, while new acquisition Carl Bryan Cruz waxed hot in the second period to end up with 16 points.

Import Marqus Blakely had another good all-around game of 13 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and eight blocked shots as Blackwater led by as much as 18 points, 94-76, midway in the final period.

Mychal Ammons, meanwhile, fired 29 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in a losing effort for the Batang Pier, while Robert Bolick led all NorthPort locals with 14 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists but shot 3-of-10 from the field.
