San Miguel Beermen stopped the rise of the NLEX Road Warriors while keeping the fire of its own rampage as it got away with a 98-94 win, Friday night, in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
The win thus extended the Beermen’s unbeaten run to three games while ending that of the Road Warriors, who dropped to 3-1.
San Miguel ended the game with a 7-0 run and the Road Warriors failed to recover as import Dez Wells scored the go-ahead basket to push the Beermen up, 95-94, with 23 seconds to go.
Wellz showed the way with 32 points and 14 rebounds for the Grand Slam-seeking San Miguel which shared first place with the TNT KaTropa in the team standings.
Alex Cabagnot and June Mar Fajardo were the top locals for the Beermen with 20 and 16 points, respectively.
Kiefer Ravena led the scoring for NLEX with 20 points in a losing effort.
