San Miguel Beermen vented its frustrations on the Alaska Aces with a 119-107 rout in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay Friday night.
Coming off a 110-107 overtime loss at the hands of Ginebra last Sunday, the Beermen shook off a slow start before going off for a 36-14 rampage in the second quarter to take control the rest of the way.
The bounce-back win improved SMB’s record to 2-3, while Alaska fell to 4-4 after getting dealt with its second straight defeat.
Alex Cabagnot led the rampage for San Miguel, exploding for 20 points in the first half alone en route to a game-high 31-point production along with six assists, four rebounds, and two steals.
Import Charles Rhodes finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks in the win. Marcio Lassiter also had 23 markers, spiked by three triples, while Arwind Santos and June Mar Fajardo scored 15 and 14, respectively.
Chris Banchero led the way for the Aces with 26 points and six assists while import Chris Daniels provided 23 points and 22 rebounds in his return to Alaska.
