Alaska Aces went on a searing third-quarter rampage to get past the Columbian Dyip, 111-98, for a winning debut in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Sunday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Aces ran a high-octane offense in the third period highlighted by a 22-2 blitz to turn a 48-57 halftime deficit to a 70-58 advantage and pull away for good.

Import Chris Daniels led Alaska with a double-double of 25 points and 16 rebounds along with two assists, a steal, and a block. Chris Banchero supplied 20 points, while Simon Enciso led the Aces’ third-quarter run by scoring 11 points en route to a 19-point output along with eight assists.

Carl Bryan Cruz fired 14 markers, four rebounds, and two assists in the win where Alaska held a lead as big as 20 points.

Import Kyle Barone led the Dyip with a solid numbers of 30 points and 22 rebounds, while rookie CJ Perez had 19 points and six rebounds. Rashawn McCarthy tallied 13 markers and five assists in the loss.
