San Miguel Beermen put away the NorthPort Batang Pier late for a 113-107 victory in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum Sunday night.
Collecting their sixth win in nine outings, the Beermen are already assured of at least a playoff spot as they move closer to clinching a twice-to-beat incentive.
June Mar Fajardo had a dominant showing, scattering game-high 40 points on top of 19 boards in 40 minutes of play as San Miguel extended their winning run to four games.
Terrence Romeo provided 23 points, while Marcio Lassiter knocked down four triples on his way to 15 markers. Arwind Santos and Kelly Nabong, meanwhile, added 11 markers apiece, with the former also grabbing nine boards.
Moala Tautuaa produced career-high 28 points that just went down the drain as the Batang Pier suffered a fifth consecutive loss for a 2-5 win-loss mark.
