Rain or Shine Elasto Painters repeated over the Magnolia Hotshots for a 93-80 blowout win in the Game Two of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals Sunday evening at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The second-seeded E-Painters started to pull away in the second frame, turning a close game into a lopsided victory as Rain or Shine took a commanding 2-0 advantage in the best-of-seven showdown.
After Javee Mocon’s impressive performance in Game One, it was Ed Daquioag’s turn to shine this time around, producing 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field along with three rebounds and three assists.
Other ROS youngsters Norbert Torres (16 points, five rebounds, one steal, and one block) and Rey Nambatac (12 points, three rebounds, and three assists) had delivered a solid outing as well, while Gabe Norwood chipped in 10 markers.
Robbie Herndon and Ian Sangalang had 13 points each and combined for 13 rebounds to lead Magnolia, while Paul Lee scattered 12 points, five boards, and three assists in a lost cause.
Game Three of the series is on Tuesday, April 16, still at the Big Dome.
