Magnolia Hotshots returned to winning ways as it finally got one over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 85-74, for a breakthrough win in the Game Three of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum Tuesday night.
Putting clamps on the E-Painters in the final four minutes, the Hotshots went on a 9-0 run to close out the game, trimming the deficit in the best-of-seven series to 1-2.
After a scoreless first half, Ian Sangalang rose to the occasion in the final frame, producing 12 of his 16-point output on top of 11 boards and two assists to lead the way for Magnolia.
Paul Lee delivered 16 markers as well, while Jio Jalalon and Mark Barroca combined for just 14 points but grabbed 10 rebounds apiece with the latter also tallying six assists and two blocks for an all-around performance.
Javee Mocon paced the Elasto Painters with a near double-double of 18 points and nine rebounds. Beau Belga piled up 12 points and seven rebounds, while Norbert Torres added 10 points in a losing effort.
Game Four of the series will be on Monday, April 22, still at the Big Dome.
