Magnolia Hotshots made easy work of the Columbian Dyip, 109-83, in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The Hotshots nearly squandered a 17-point first-half lead but recovered in time to clinch their second straight victory.

With an improved 3-4 win-loss record, the currently seventh seeded Magnolia thus boosted its playoff chances, while the Dyip slipped to eighth place with a 4-6 card.

Ian Sangalang led the demolition job with 16 points and six rebounds while Mark Barroca had 14 points and six assists in the win where they led by as many as 28 points.

On the other side, Rashawn McCarthy top scored with 19 points along with three rebounds, and three assists. Rookie CJ Perez had 14 points, while forward Jackson Corpuz produced a double-double performance with 12 markers and 11 caroms in a losing effort for Columbian.
