GlobalPort Batang Pier flaunted its dominant form as it mauled the NLEX Road Warriors, 116-94, in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, on Wednesday night.
The bounce back win improved the Batang Pier’s record at 3-2, while they immediately ended NLEX’s winning ways as they sent them reeling with a fourth loss against only one victory.
Sean Anthony shined for GlobalPort with 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while import Malcolm White had his way inside with 20 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and four blocks.
Behind the combined 28-point effort of Anthony and White in the first half, the Batang Pier were able to break away, establishing a 55-43 cushion at the half.
The Road Warriors, somehow, made a push in the third period to cut the lead to just five and maybe give themselves a chance, but that didn’t last long. GlobalPort stepped on the gas pedal once more for another quick haymaker, leading by as much as 22 points to put NLEX down for good.
The result thus spoiled the 24-point outburst of Kiefer Ravena, while Arnett Moultrie had 19 points and 10 rebounds in a lost cause for the NLEX Road Warriors.
