Ginebra breaks out of slump with road win over NLEX

Barangay Ginebra ended a run of futility as it dominated the NLEX Road Warriors, 93-85, in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Saturday night at the Ibalong Center for Recreation in Legaspi City, Albay.

Leaning on a strong second half to break away for good, the Gin Kings revived their playoff aspirations as they picked up their second victory for a 2-5 win-loss mark, while the Road Warriors dropped to 2-6.

Justin Brownlee took charge for Ginebra, pouring a near triple-double outing of 23 points, 22 rebounds and seven assists against only three turnovers.

Japeth Aguilar tallied 13 points and two blocks, Greg Slaughter produced 12 points and 10 boards, while LA Tenorio and Kevin Ferrer finally woke up from a scoring drought and chipped in 10 and nine markers, respectively, for the Tim Cone-mentored squad.
