San Miguel Beer registered its second straight win in impressive fashion with a 21-point shellacking of the Magnolia Hotshots, 113-92, in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday night at the Big Dome in Cubao, Quezon City.
In the rematch of last year’s all-Filipino Cup finals, the Beermen flaunted its dominant form from the get-go and were hardly threatened on their way to the lopsided victory.
As a result, San Miguel improved to 4-3 to occupy the third spot, while the Hotshots dropped to 0-2.
Three players contributed at least 22 points for SMB, spearheaded by Arwind Santos, who tallied 29 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field, including seven three-pointers.
Terrence Romeo picked up from where he left off from their last game as he produced 23 markers, while June Mar Fajardo finished with 22 markers on top of eight rebounds, three assists and one block in almost 34 minutes of play.
Alex Cabagnot finished in double figures as well with 11 points, along with four assists, three rebounds, and three assists, as San Miguel posted a lead as high as 24 points.
The Hotshots got 19 points, five rebounds, and four steals from Ian Sangalang, while Paul Lee had 16 points, five boards, and three assists.
